All art students should be visiting art galleries.

It is so important that you know about what is happening in the contemporary art world.
But we also believe that the students with the best contextual knowledge make the most original, exciting and relevant work.

On this course we value traditional art and the history of the subject, but we also believe that this should be balanced with exploration of current art practise.

We love it if a student wants to visit art exhibitions without us telling them that they should do, as that student shows a level of interest in the subject that goes beyond what is learnt in a classroom setting and has the potential to excel in this subject.

In the UK we have some of the best art galleries in the entire world.

Every art student should be visiting the Tate Modern in London - it is incredible.

We also have the Tate Britain in London and Tate Liverpool, which are highly recommended.

Manchester also has plenty of places you can see exciting work.
